El origen de la mayor banda de auténtico rock & roll de Estados Unidos comienza en 1959, el penúltimo año de la era Eisenhower. En El Cerrito, California, un suburbio de clase media baja de la Bahía Este de San Francisco, los estudiantes de octavo grado John Fogerty, Stu Cook y Doug Clifford, como tantos otros niños locos por el rock & roll, tomaron el asunto en sus manos e hicieron lo más natural: formaron una banda.
